Frankie Grande took a winding road to find love, but if he had listened to just one caption, it might have been a little less complicated.
The 39-year-old dancer, singer and YouTube personality married the love of his life, Hale Leon, earlier this year in an adorable nerdy, star wars-theme wedding, but not all the relationships he had were successful.
Before reuniting with Leon, the reality TV star spent a few months in a band, despite his warnings.
“I was talking to Madonna about all the people — I was talking to the Queen — and I told her about the band,” Grande revealed at Tamron Hall. “She literally said, ‘Well, it’s not going to end well. She said that, and I did it anyway.
In 2018, Grande announced that he had joined the group, dating a married couple.
“They’re my boyfriends,” Grande said at the time. “[We’ve been dating for] almost three months, but in the gay world it’s like five years.
Alas, a few months later, Grande announced that the group was no more. ” Thank you, see you soon ! I’m so grateful for my exes,” he said at the time, referring to his sister Ariana’s big hit.
He said being in a band was “so complicated” and “you have double the highs, double the excitement…but also double the lows, double the drama”. Still, he did not regret joining the relationship.
“I’m super grateful for my last relationship,” he said. “I grew so much into it, and at the same time, it didn’t work anymore. I’m super glad we decided to end things amicably. And that we can all stay friends… that’s the most important thing.
All’s well that ends well for Grande, but if he had listened to Madonna, maybe he would have avoided a little heartbreak. Maybe we should all take that into consideration, and the next time we think about entering into a new relationship, ask ourselves: What would Madonna do?
