Leonardo DiCaprio recently opened up about his experience working with Martin Scorsese over the years.
According IndependentDiCaprio shared what he learned from Scorsese as an actor ahead of his next movie The Moonflower Slayers.
“As a young actor at his side during the process of creating a film, I discovered that, just like a painting, a sculpture, a music or a theater, the film was just as essential, relevant [and]in fact, the most integral art form of our time,” the Oscar-winning star said.
DiCaprio continued, “I felt I could really own the term artist working alongside him.”
Gushing about his Scorsese creative side, the 48-year-old commented: “No one is more knowledgeable, more committed, or more inspired by the art of cinema than the director.”
“There’s almost no aspect of his life, creative or personal, where Martin doesn’t reference movie history,” DiCaprio added.
For the uninitiated, the actor first collaborated with Scorsese on a 2002 film New York Gangs.
Later, they both worked together in films, including the aviator, shutter island, the wolf of Wall Street and The deadwhich earned Scorsese his first Academy Award for Best Director.
