The team is part of the Basketball League, which plays a 24-game regular-season schedule from March through May, and then into the playoffs.
LEBANON, Indiana – Lebanon is home to a new semi-professional basketball team after local entrepreneur Preston Myers bought the team and plans to start playing in the 2022 season.
The team, the Lebanon Leprechauns, is part of the Basketball League, which brings together nearly 50 teams, including two in Indiana: the Indian Express and the Kokomo Bobkats. The 2022 season will be its fifth. The Leprechauns will play in the league’s Midwest Conference with other teams from Indiana.
“I’m totally confident that as long as we have fun with the gaming experience, are active in the community, and have a competitive product on the pitch, Lebanon will be a great market for TBL,” Myers said.
TBL play a 24-game regular season from March through May, followed by the playoffs with a national championship in June.
“Lebanon is a similar market to Kokomo, who runs TBL, so we’re delighted to have a team there,” said Evelyn Magley, CEO of TBL. “To have a TMO like Preston who understands his community and is willing to use this team as a tool to help make an impact on the lives of young people, is exactly what we are looking for. “
The Leprechauns will attend combine harvesters and hold trials to find players to complete the roster. In addition, there will be an attempt to join the cheering / dance team.
