Council Bluffs guard Lincoln injured late Friday
Josh Dix, a 2022 Iowa 3-star men’s basketball rookie from Council Bluffs Lincoln, injured his right leg Friday night during Lincoln’s game against The Mars and was taken by ambulance to a Council hospital. Bluffs.
Dix reportedly landed awkwardly after trying to block a shot. The game was called off with 1:45 to go and Lincoln ahead, 52-33.
He is a 6-foot-5 shooting guard who is on the 2022 McDonald’s All American Games watch list.
Dix is a 4 year old starter. He was an all-state first-team player as a junior. He is averaging 20.4 points, and over 7 rebounds and 5 assists per game.
Iowa coach Fran McCaffery saw Dix scrimmage in person as recently as Dec. 30 in Waukee.
“Josh is incredibly versatile,” McCaffery said after Dix signed a national letter of intent. “He can play in several positions. It has a great frame. Josh is good with the ball in his hands finding people and getting to the edge. He is physical defensively and is an excellent rebounder for his position. Josh is a winning player. We are really excited about it.
