While Lea Michele is currently receiving rave reviews for her role on Funny Girl, don’t expect her former co-star Chris Colfer to be among those flocking to the show.
The actor, who starred alongside Lea in Glee from 2009 to 2015, cast some serious shade over Lea when asked if he would watch the musical in New York.
Chris joked that his day was suddenly ‘full’ after Michelle Collins suggested he check out Funny Girl, more than two years after Lea came under fire for alleged bullying behavior on the filming of Glee.

“By the way, Chrissy, guess what I’m doing tonight?” Oh my God, you should come if you’re here,’ Michelle asked during an interview with Chris on her show, The Michelle Collins Show.
‘Oh no, you see Funny Girl?’ Chris asked Michelle.
“I am,” Michelle replied.
“Oh,” Chris replied in a deflated tone before adding, “My day has suddenly become so full. »

‘Wait, no! Wow! Chris!’ Michelle exclaimed. “I saw it with Beanie, so I think it’s only fair that I see it with Lea!”
“I saw Six last night, and it was amazing,” Chris said, referring to the Broadway show Six.
‘So you don’t see [Funny Girl] is my guess, while you’re in town? Michelle asked.
“No, I can be triggered at home,” he replied.

Lea has received rave reviews for her portrayal of comedian Fanny Brice on Funny Girl since taking over the role following Beanie Feldstein’s departure this summer.
Funny Girl is a musical with a score by Jule Styne, lyrics by Bob Merrill and a book by Isobel Lennart, which debuted on Broadway in 1964 and starred Barbra Streisand in the lead role.
Chris isn’t the only former Glee cast member who chose not to star Lea on the show.
Last month, Kevin McHale admitted he wouldn’t be watching the musical either.

Talking with E! News the 34-year-old actor admitted “I have no plans” [to see Funny Girl].’
He added that he hadn’t spoken to Michele, 36 – who took over production from Beanie Feldstein, 29, earlier this month – for a long time.
However, he also acknowledged Lea’s talent and power elsewhere in the interview.
“She’s obviously extremely, extremely talented,” he said during his interview with the outlet.

“I’m sure she’s phenomenal in it. Are you kidding me? She could play the part in her sleep,” he praised.
Lea landed at the center of controversy in 2020 after former Glee actress Samantha Ware claimed the actress made her time on the show a “living hell”.
After Lea shared a post in response to George Floyd’s death, Samantha tweeted: ‘Remember when you made my first gig on TV a living hell?!?!… Because I don’t I’ll never forget… I think you told everyone that if you had the chance you’d ‘be in my wig!’ among other traumatic microaggressions that made me question a career in Hollywood.
The tweet opened the floodgates and many other stars came forward with their own memories of Lea’s alleged misbehavior.
