An Alpine mechanic was hit by driver Pierre Gasly during the Chinese Grand Prix.
During the Frenchman’s first pit stop, an error occurred while repairing one of his new rear tires.
It looked like the right rear wheel was fixed, but when Gasly was allowed to go again.
But it soon became clear that there was a problem.
As Gasly walked away from his mechanics, the wheel, which had not been tightened, came loose and hit one of them.
The heavy tire threw the mechanic to the ground with the help of a teammate.
And Sky Sports journalist Ted Kravitz added that he was a bit “struck and bruised”.
Later, Gasly asked for news of his colleague with the response on the radio stating that he was fine.
Commissioners then looked into the incident, but as of yet there is no confirmation if any action will be taken.
Moments later, a safety car was on track as Sauber’s Valtteri Bottas saw his engine fail.
