Marseille v Tottenham
A game to watch: Matteo Guendouzi vs. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has the potential to be fascinating in the middle of the park with a French flavor given the origins of the Spurs man. Who can emerge victorious in the midfield battle could dictate who ultimately manages to win this game. A lot will depend on whether both teams can score, but Marseille really need to dominate Tottenham wherever possible to stand a chance.
Most likely to score a goal: It seems likely that Harry Kane scores at some point in this game. The question is whether or not OM can beat Tottenham – not whether the hosts can shut out their visitors. Chancel Mbemba’s dismissal when they first met was a game-changer and Marseille need to channel that kind of defensive solidity here.
Man of the Match Pick: Son Heung Min could get big here considering how Marseille will be so focused on needing to go for the jugular. Spurs should have plenty of breaking chances and the Korean’s speed will be key to capitalize on those chances and get a positive result.
Match prediction: Marseille 1, Tottenham 2. As much as I personally want to see OM advance for the benefit of French football in Europe, I also feel that this game is dangerous for both teams and could easily go either way. In the end, I give Spurs the lead, but that’s mainly because of Marseille’s disappointing recent form. The atmosphere at the Velodrome could be a huge leveling factor, but the home team have yet to show up and put on a huge performance. –Jonathan Johnson

Liverpool v Napoli
A match to watch: Darwin Nunez vs. Kim Min-Jae. How Nunez could do with the goals that would revive his career at Anfield, but he will do well to make the most of Napoli’s summer signing when it comes to physical duels. Nunez knows how to find shooting opportunities, but Kim will pester him to take them quickly. Under these circumstances, the Uruguayan may be a bit more wasteful than Liverpool could have anticipated when they brought him in from Benfica.
Most likely to score: Victor Osimhen. Six goals in four games is a more than adequate return from injury for Osimhen, who caused such problems for the Liverpool defense in Napoli for 40 minutes. Had he been able to continue in this game he would surely have found the net, expect him to pick up where he left off.
Choice of the man of the match: Piotr Zielinski. Once again we go back to September for clues as to what will decide this game. Zielinski dominated a Liverpool midfield that looks as long as it did several weeks ago. Only Neymar has created more Champions League chances this season than the Pole, who will be there to prove why his opponents have coveted him so much in years past.
Match prediction: Liverpool 0, Napoli 2. Luciano Spalletti will be aware that this is a real chance for the Partenopei make their mark on European football. As such, expect him to name his strongest team and if Liverpool aren’t a match for the bottom half teams in the Premier League right now, why would you expect that? that they are against the leaders of Serie A? –-James Benge

AC Milan vs Salzburg
A match to watch: Fikayo Tomori against Noah Okafor. One of the most interesting duels of the week. The AC Milan defender hasn’t started the season as well as he did last year, while the RB Salzburg striker was certainly one of the most underrated players in the League. current champions. The 22-year-old has scored three goals in the first five games of the group stage.
Most likely to score: Rafael Leao. He played a rather disappointing game against Torino on Sunday and missed some key scoring opportunities as the Rossoneri lost to Ivan Juric’s side. AC Milan must score at least one draw to qualify for the next round.
Choice of the man of the match: Olivier Giroud. The French striker is one of the most important players in the roster as he has shown in the past that he can be a crucial and experienced player when needed. This is one of the games where his experience is needed and can become a factor for the final outcome of the match.
Match prediction: AC Milan 2, RB Salzburg 0. Stefano Pioli’s side can’t pass up the chance to advance to the next round and must react after a disappointing loss to Torino. –Francesco Porzio

Chelsea v Zagreb
One game to watch: Mislav Orsic vs Chelsea wing-back. While it’s unclear who Graham Potter will employ as a wing-back, especially after losing 4-1 to Brighton, their defensive work on Orsic will be key for the Blues. Orsic has been dangerous and is able to create his own chances while dribbling and will also unleash unexpected shots around the pitch, but Zagreb lack attacking threats if he is knocked out of the game. Ever since Reece James fell Chelsea have struggled to defend against top wingers and although it hasn’t cost the teams many matches yet, they ultimately need to find a structure without James to have as a plan B .
Most likely to score: Mason Mount. Mount has had a weird season as his offensive production has been inconsistent, but he still brings a lot to the team through his builder play contributions. In a game where he will have space to operate, Mount will be able to score in what will become a victory for Chelsea.
Man of the Match Pick: Mason Mount. To help Chelsea to victory, Mount will need to put on a good game to move the team forward while getting on the scoresheet. With his role in orchestrating the attack, it’s hard for Chelsea to put on a good game without Mount also having a good game.
Match prediction: Chelsea 4, Zagreb 2. The Blues will emerge victorious in what promises to be a home and away game to bounce back from their weekend disappointment. –-Charles Booth
