Alabama quarterback Bryce Young, the defending Heisman Trophy winner, appeared to hurt his shoulder in the second quarter of Saturday’s game at Arkansas.
Young threw away his helmet before entering the injured tent. He left for the locker room with seven minutes left in the first half. His parents left their place in the stands to join him.
Young was ruled out after completing 7 of 13 passes for 173 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception. Alabama led 14-0.
Backup quarterback Jalen Milroe came on the next series and led Alabama to a touchdown.
Young started the weekend with 10 touchdowns and two interceptions in four games.
Alabama will host Texas A&M on Saturday.
