Global superstar Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson can’t seem to stay out of the spotlight. After an unsuccessful attempt at a professional football career and a highly successful career in WWE, Dwayne focused on acting – and he continues to star in blockbusters to this day.
His new series Young Rock (which is based on the true story of his rise to fame) made fans wonder: Does Dwayne have any siblings? Let’s dive into the dynamics of his family.
Does Dwayne Johnson have siblings?
He does! In real life, Dwayne has two siblings: a brother, Curtis Bowles, and a sister, Wanda Bowles.
Dwayne’s father was born Wayde Douglas Bowles in Nova Scotia. However, he later changed his name to Rocky Johnson after moving to Toronto, Canada, and began his wrestling career. This name change pays homage to his favorite boxers, Jack Johnson and Rocky Marciano.

Before Dwayne’s father moved from Canada to the United States to become a full-time wrestler, he was married to a woman named Una, with whom he had two children, Curtis and Wanda (who are actually half-brothers and sisters of Dwayne).
Rocky eventually divorced Una and married Dwayne’s mother Ata in 1978 (and in 2003 Rocky and Ata divorced).

Dwayne Johnson’s siblings prefer to live a private life.
Don’t feel too bad if you were surprised to learn that Dwayne has a sibling; unlike their famous brother, Dwayne’s siblings seem to prefer life away from the spotlight.
In fact, if you were hoping to get a closer look at their day-to-day lives, we’ve got some bad news. We couldn’t find a public Instagram account for Wanda – and it’s unclear whether the Instagram account under Curtis’s name is legitimate, given that it doesn’t have the ‘verified’ checkmark.

It’s also unclear what relationship Dwayne had with his siblings – both growing up and today. While not much has been publicly said about Dwayne’s brother and sister, Rocky thanked his three children when he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2008.
On January 15, 2020, Rocky died at age 75 of a pulmonary embolism following a blood clot in his leg. Dwayne posted a touching video tribute via Instagram after his father died – and Curtis has opened up about their father’s legacy as well.

Speaking to CBC Canada, Curtis spoke about how Rocky broke barriers in the wrestling world.
“I’ve seen him work hard his whole life,” he told the publication. “I saw him held back at times until he had to work twice as hard because of racial barriers.”

“The wrestling is choreographed but some of the guys would stiffen him up – that means hitting him for real with harder punches than he should have been – just because of his run,” added Curtis. “Once he realized who these guys were and what it was all about, he hit back twice as hard… just to let her know that wasn’t going to happen.”
