TCL has a new tablet to offer buyers in Russia, Liliputing reported. Named TCL Nxtpaper 12 Pro, the tablet comes with a 12.2-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 2160 x 1440 pixels. A 6nm MediaTek Kompanio 800T octa-core processor and Mali-G57 MC2 GPU form the heart of the tablet and are paired with 8GB of memory and 256GB of native storage. This all adds up to top-end specs, meaning the tablet can also be used for some CPU-intensive tasks instead of just being a media streaming device.
Another interesting feature of the TCL Nxtpaper 12 Pro is its camera setup. This includes a single 13MP camera on the back, although the front has a dual 8MP camera. As it stands, cameras on a tablet don’t make much sense because it’s kind of weird to hold a big device, also 12-inch in dimension, for shooting. Smartphones can easily do a better job than that. However, these are useful when scanning documents for further processing. The front camera, however, should be more useful for video conferencing than for clicking selfies.
Connectivity options with the tablet include Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1. Additionally, there is also a USB Type-C port while the inbuilt microSD card reader will allow for storage expansion up to 512GB. The tablet also has a pair of mics as well as four speakers. It is only 6.9mm thick and weighs around 599 grams.
However, as already mentioned, the TCL Nxtpaper 12 Pro is currently only available in Russia, although it is not planned to be limited to this country only. It may be the same tablet but with another name or with some modifications that will be launched in other parts of the world. With CES taking place in January, the company might have something more to share about it.
With a keen interest in technology, I make it a point to keep up to date with the latest developments in the world of technology and gadgets. This includes smartphones or tablets, but even extends to AI and self-driving automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. In addition to writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music or experimenting with different recipes. Cinema is another aspect that interests me a lot and maybe I will make a film in the future.
