Brazil sealed their place in the knockout stages of the 2022 World Cup with a delicious late strike from Casemiro.
The Selecao thought they had led 1-0 thanks to a sublime finish from Vinicius Jr, only for the goal to be ruled out by VAR.
VAR ruled out the second half due to Richarlison – who did not touch the ball but was active in motion – returning from an offside position.
And talkSPORT commentator for the game, Tony Cascarino, felt the decision was tough.
“I don’t understand this decision at all,” he said. “Richarlison does not interfere with the game.”
But soon the VAR verdict didn’t matter as Casemiro got up to save the day with less than 10 minutes on the clock.
Vinicius’ inside pass was thrown beautifully by Rodrygo, before the Man United midfielder came in on the half-volley to smash it past Yann Sommer – not bad for a defensive midfielder!
“What a fabulous strike,” said former Premier League striker Cascarino.

“He’s a bit lucky with the deflection but he catches it beautifully.”
Casemiro’s strike put his country through a close affair with the Swiss and ultimately sealed qualification for the knockout stages, with them now on six points atop Group G.
Meanwhile, Switzerland, Cameroon and Serbia have everything to do in their final group stage fixtures.
