‘It may not sound traditional, but we’re killing it’: Kate Hudson gives insight into co-parenting with her exes and says she ‘hopes to get married’ to fiancé Danny Fujikawa
Kate Hudson opened up about co-parenting with her exes and her current relationship with fiancé Danny Fujikawa.
The daughter of Goldie Hawn, 77, and Bill Hudson, 73 (she calls her stepfather Kurt Russell, 71, Dad) has three children with three partners and says her blended family is “really strong”.
Kate became a mother to son Ryder, 18, from her marriage to Black Crowes singer Chris Robinson, 55, when she was 23. Ryder is now in college and dating Iris Apatow.

Kate and Chris separated in 2006 and finalized their divorce in 2007, but Kate maintained a friendly relationship with him as they raised their son.
Kate shares Bingham, 11, with her ex-fiancé Matt Bellamy, 44, of Muse fame and Rani, four, with her current longtime love and musician, Danny Fujikawa, 36.
She spoke about co-parenting in an interview with Sunday Times.
Staying strong: Hudson and Fujikawa had their first date in 2016 and had been good friends for many years before their first romantic outing
She said: ‘Chris and I just need to check in once in a while, Matt is so wonderful. I couldn’t have asked for a better co-parent. You can have an amazing time with an ex-partner because you’re really only focused on loving your child.
And in fact, she’s so close to Matt’s wife, Elle, 32, that they all go on vacation together.
She said: “It might not look traditional from the outside, but not from the inside, I feel like we’re killing it.” The unit that I created with three children from three different fathers is a very strong unit and it is ours.
And Kate said that although she doesn’t wear rose-colored glasses when it comes to love and relationships, she hopes to marry Danny,
They first met when she was pregnant with Ryder, but they didn’t go on their first date until 2016. They welcomed Rani in 2018 and got engaged in 2021.
Kate said: ‘I hope we get married. We are not in a hurry. The last thing I need right now is planning a wedding on top of everything else, but I’m thrilled about it.
She added that she saw him watching old pictures of him with Rani on his phone and it made her heart melt.
Kate concluded that her purpose in life was to love and be loved and that she worked hard in her relationships because she loved them.
