Tyson Fury plans to fly to Qatar if England qualify for the World Cup Round of 16.
The WBC heavyweight champion enjoyed watching England’s 6-2 win over Iran but would have been less than impressed with Friday’s goalless draw against the United States.
England remain favorites to finish top of Group B and will advance to the knockout stages if they avoid a four-goal loss to Wales on Tuesday. A win would guarantee first place, while a draw would also be enough to pass.
Before the Gyspy King can even think of a trip to Qatar, he must first take care of the not-so-small matter of a trilogy fight with Derek Chisora, whom he will meet at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on December 3. – live on talkSPORT.
“I’ll be back to Morecambe in enough time to watch it on Sunday, as long as I’m in one piece,” Fury revealed.
“If England are successful I will go to Qatar for sure. I wouldn’t rush for a group game because I expected us to go through this crap.
“But if they get to the semi-finals or the final, I’ll be on my way to Qatar. It would be great to get a win in the Winter World Cup after all these years.
Fury was famous at Euro 2016 and is excited to attend another tournament after celebrating with England fans in France and buying them 200 Jägerbombs.
“I remember going to Euros in 2016 and having a fantastic time. I went there and went absolutely legless for a few days,” he added.
“I was singing all my English songs and was up and down with all the English fans in the zones. It’s always an epic memory.
Once he’s dealt with Chisora and watched England’s World Cup in person, Fury has massive fights awaiting him in 2023 – including an undisputed clash with Oleksandr Usyk.
The 34-year-old would become the first four-belt champion in history if he beat Usyk who won the WBO, IBF and WBA titles from Anthony Joshua before defeating him in a rematch earlier this year.
Fury could also face AJ in a British blockbuster, or top contender Joe Joyce who he recently called the second best heavyweight after his win over Joseph Parker.
