The US Coast Guard released footage Saturday of one of many rescues in southwest Florida following the wrath of Hurricane Ian.
Video posted to the USCG Atlantic Area Command Facebook page showed a crew member from Air Station Miami’s MH-65 Dolphin rappelling from a helicopter to a home on Sanibel Island for a rescue .
At the end of the video, the airman is seen greeting a man, a woman and a dog who have all been stranded on the island.
The same crew carried out numerous other rescues in surrounding areas during the same period, according to the page.

Several videos on USCG Southeast’s social media pages showed crews from Air Stations Clearwater, Miami and St. Petersburg assisting in the rescue of more people and pets.
On Saturday afternoon, the Coast Guard said crews had rescued or assisted 442 people and 89 pets in Florida and South Carolina who fell victim to Hurricane Ian.

Additionally, more than 118 USCG flights have flown since Wednesday to assist with search and rescue efforts after Hurricane Ian.
