Bo Nickal is officially a UFC fighter after picking up his second victory in Dana White’s Contender Series last night.
Last August, the National Collegiate Athletic Association three times [NCAA] The Division I wrestling champion apparently did enough to secure a UFC contract when he scored a 52-second win over DWCS to improve his professional MMA record to 2-0.
Surprisingly, the UFC boss opted not to sign him up immediately and instead invited him back to the Contender Series for a fight against Donovan Beard.
Nickal’s second fight at the UFC Apex ended even faster than the first, as he landed a left hand that dropped Beard before locking in a triangle choke to claim the submission victory.
After his 52-second win, Nickal immediately called for a December fight with Khamzat Chimaev, telling ESPN, “If the UFC wants it, give me that Swedish guy. He might not be the best guy because he can’t even gain weight.
“If so, I’ll take it. Otherwise, give me Logan Paul. UFC debut. Me versus Logan Paul. I know he has skills. If we can’t do it in the UFC, let’s do it in the WWE. I’ll meet you in the ring.
Chimaev is one of the best fighters on the UFC roster who boasts a perfect 12-0 record and has moved between middleweight and welterweight throughout his career.
Earlier this month, he was supposed to face Nate Diaz at UFC 279, but he missed weight and was pulled from the fight before being replaced by Tony Ferguson.
“Borz” ended up fighting Kevin Holland on the card that took place in Las Vegas and submitted him in just over two minutes without absorbing a single punch.
Despite being called up by Nickal, it’s safe to say that Chimaev won’t be facing the elite-level wrestler anytime soon if the UFC boss has anything to do with it.
“Let’s not go crazy here,” White told reporters after DWCS.
“It’s funny, we were in matchmaking today, and we were talking about Khamzat and the possibilities and how really good this guy is.”
A fight with Paul would apparently make more sense for Nickal’s UFC debut, but seems unlikely despite the internet celebrity flirting with the idea of switching to MMA in 2022.
“The Maverick” called out Paddy Pimblett earlier this year, but fell silent before his January 14 in-ring return on the same card as KSI.
First, he will take on WWE Champion Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel on November 5 after impressing in his professional wrestling debut earlier this year.
