Everyone in Broncos country is worried about Nathaniel Hackett and the Denver Broncos this week after a rather sloppy start to the season. Hackett spent the week improving his decision-making speed and even hired a veteran game manager to help him get the hang of it.
With all the attention on this issue, few are looking at the positives. The Broncos have moved the ball on offense and eventually they will start converting those drives into touchdowns. The San Francisco 49ers have a solid defense, but Russell Wilson has had more success against this franchise than any other. There is potential here for a decisive game for Hackett and Wilson tonight.
Kickoff is scheduled for Sunday, September 25, 2022 at 6:20 p.m. Mile High time at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver, Colorado and will air on NBC. If you are looking for an online stream elsewhere, fuboTV will show this game or you can also get Sunday Night Football on Peacock.
In-Game Updates
5:00 p.m. MT: Broncos Country got some good news with the Broncos inactive report, as three critical starters listed as questionable will all play tonight: Jerry Jeudy, Pat Surtain and Dre’Mont Jones. The 49ers also picked up George Kittle, so both teams looked a little healthier than they were.
7:02 p.m. (Mountain Time): The first quarter would end with the 49ers getting practice to take a 7-0 lead. The quarter ended with a pass from Russell Wilson in the middle of Courtland Sutton for a gain of 36 yards. Complete recap of the first quarter.
7:53 p.m. MT: A defensive battle throughout the first half, with each team giving up points. The Broncos would head into halftime down 7-3 to the 49ers, but will win the ball back to start the second half. Complete recap of the second quarter.
8:10 p.m. (Mountain Time): Baron Browning left the game with a knee injury late in the second quarter. However, he was seen pedaling an exercise bike to start the third quarter. He was deemed doubtful to return by the team.
My prediction
In partnership with DraftKings Sportsbook, I’m covering all my picks this year on TallySight. Our staff submitted their score predictions and it was a mixed bag that resulted in an average score that had the 49ers slightly ahead of the Broncos. However, I personally have the Broncos ahead in a 31-20 home win over the Niners.
