After 50 years, contestant Martha Bath has returned to , Wednesday. In 1972 the show was organized by Art Fleming and the prizes weren’t as big.
“I won $40 and a set of encyclopedias, and I still have them,” Bath said. Which seems like a consolation prize from that era.
Martha got off to a great start, as she managed to correctly locate and respond to two daily doubles on her way to a massive Jeopardy finale! bet. She wagered her $15,400 to win a total of $30,800.
It’s very rare for players to make multiple appearances and the fact that his two were 50 years apart made it an even better story.
“Martha Bath is so much more than a set of encyclopedias,” host Ken Jennings said. “You are a danger! champ with $30,800. Or, if you count 1972, $30,840.
