Opening: The 41-year-old actress and filmmaker has opened up in a new interview with Metro that there’s been a ‘conversation’ about Howard’s weight loss in the past, and it came back in the third movie, though that its director, Colin Trevorrow, defended it
‘On the third film, it was actually because there were so many women in the cast, it was something that Colin felt very strongly about in terms of protection…because the conversation picked up, “we have to ask Bryce to lose weight,” Howard said.
“He said to me, ‘There are a lot of different types of women on this planet and there are a lot of different types of women in our movie,'” Howard added.
She also revealed that her defending manager allowed her “to do so many stunts that wouldn’t have been possible if I had been on a diet.”
Women: “On the third movie, it was actually because there were so many women in the cast, it was something Colin was very keen on protecting me…because the conversation picked up, “we have to ask Bryce to lose weight,’ Howard said.
‘So I’m really delighted [at] all the action I have to do, and I have to do it with my body, it was at its peak strength, and hopefully that’s just another indication of what’s possible,’ Howard said. .
Her co-star DeWanda Wise, who plays pilot Kayla Watts, added that there was also a push back on her muscle tone.
“It’s always something. There was a lot of resistance to Kayla having muscle, to what it meant to be a woman, to look like a woman. It’s right on all sides, it’s relentless and impossible,’ Wise revealed.

Howard added, “There are so many of us!” In fact, we are half the population! And in this film, there were more women than men. These are numbers and scenarios [that are] at this point still unusual, and just normalizing that.
Wise added, “They feature these heroines that aren’t perfect.” There’s a story there, a feeling that you can be heroic even if you don’t feel heroic. I’m interested in the future of action and blockbusters that truly allow women to be the full human beings that we are.
Howard and Wise were both promoting the Director’s Cut of Jurassic World: Dominion, which includes 14 minutes of new footage and an alternate opening.
So Many: Howard added, “We are so many! In fact, we are half the population! And in this film, there were more women than men. These are numbers and scenarios [that are] at this point still uncommon, and just normalizing that’
It also includes all the stunts that Howard and Wise worked so hard for.
“All my stunts are in there. I’ll tell you what’s not in there…a lot of the stuff that was cut from Kayla stuff was just Kayla being Kayla,’ Wise adds.
‘There is a moment “I am Sparta”, [where] she shouts, “You don’t want that smoke!” where she drinks beer and eats peanuts, I’m not kidding,” Wise said with a laugh.

Howard adds: “There are definitely moments before and after the stunts, between the characters, Claire and Owen. [Pratt] on the plane after the whole Malta sequence, a little scene that had never been written, that Chris and I improvised.
‘Having those moments in there helps fill out the story and the relationships, and, of course, the beginning [of the film] and what he does for the whole movie, especially the third act. We are so proud to be able to share the original cut of this film,” she added.
