DeMar DeRozan has been in the headlines this offseason despite the NBA ending over a month ago. With basketball starving fans, a lot of attention was given to ProAm leagues being played in various parts of the country and big stars like DeRozan, LeBron James and Trae Young all took part.
The Drew League may have drawn the most attention, as LeBron James and DeMar DeRozan only narrowly won and Trae Young and John Collins lost in the match they played. And DeRozan appears to have enjoyed the experience so much that he returned for another game, this time alongside Bulls teammate Patrick Williams.
DeRozan scored 36 points to lead his team to a win, with many NBA fans reacting to highlights of his performance on social media.
“The midrange is locked.”
“MVP season ahead.”
“Between him and KD for Best Known Mid-Range Game.”
“My guy really showed up at the Saturday afternoon pickup and halfway through he KILLED them all day.”
“Cooks on the cast members of Baldwin Hills.”
“One of my favorite players of the last decade, he just plays at his own pace.”
“Move crazy freely.”
“King of middies.”
“As soon as this guy gets in the 3-point line, he’s automatic.”
“DeMar is built differently, man.”
“He’s so good at what he does, man.”
“Bro’s gonna make me a Drew League fan in just one summer, man with no cap.”
“Everyone worked.”
“DeMar is a real bucket getter. Could definitely see him in the Hall Of Fame.”
DeRozan recently opened up about struggling his offseason last year thanks to free agency. However, he has since clearly found his rhythm and this summer seems to be going much better than the previous one. With Zach LaVine back in Chicago, next season promises to be another opportunity for him to potentially show up in the playoffs.
