Huawei ICT Incubator 2022 Bangladesh has 20 startups for the final stage of this competition.
Two independent juries with the cooperation of strategic partners, Startup Bangladesh and Innovation Design and Entrepreneurship Academy (iDEA) selected these finalists from 68 startups that joined the Incubator Bootcamp previously, reads a press release.
The winners of the Bootcamp stage of this Huawei ICT Incubator, an incubator program for startups, are divided into two groups – Idea Stage and Early Stage.
Each group obtained ten finalists. Ideas Stage Startup Finalists include Orgavet Medicine, Wastech, InsureCow, SEnergy, Bonik, Durjoy DSS, U-Turn, Krishian Ltd, Fitnation and Relaxy.
Meanwhile, early stage startup winners include Palki, Bepresent IT, Urban Gaz Limited, WeGro Technologies Limited, Esscre, Trabil, Jahaji Ltd., PujiGhor, Scientiko Ltd and INovex Idea Solution.
About this recent development, Startup Bangladesh Managing Director Sami Ahmed said, “Huawei ICT Incubator was first launched in Bangladesh and it has been a great journey so far. This incubator can be a great platform for upcoming startups in Bangladesh. With this program, we try to provide them with the necessary advice and a grant so that they can come up with impactful ICT solutions for society. We are happy to be part of Huawei’s ICT Incubator program to support young people and their bright ideas.
Project Director (Co-Secretary), iDEA Project of ICT Division, Md Altaf Hossain, said, “Huawei ICT Incubator started its journey with 180 applications. And in the last round, we worked on 68 different ideas. I am delighted to see such innovative ideas that they have worked on. Based on our feedback and input, participants had the chance to improvise their design and start-up plan. And now we have the 20 most promising projects. I believe this Huawei ICT Incubator competition will always be cherished by all startups for contributing to their success.
National Director of Public Affairs and Communications Department of Huawei Bangladesh, Karl Yu Ying, said, “Developing a local ICT talent ecosystem and supporting startups is very important for the growth of the digital economy. Huawei has been working in Bangladesh, for Bangladesh for over 23 years. As a longtime ally, we want to add more value to Bangladesh’s digital economy. I believe that our Huawei ICT incubator will significantly contribute to the development of ICT in this promising country.
In the next phase of the event, an independent jury will evaluate the pitch deck and presentation in mid-October. Meanwhile, the Huawei ICT Incubator final gala will be held at the end of October, where the winners will be announced.
The Idea Stage and Early Stage startup champion of the ICT Incubator competition will receive a prize of 500,000 Tk, $125,000 Huawei Cloud credit and the CEO will have the chance to meet successful foreign startups.
On the other hand, the 1st and 2nd runners-up will receive 300,000 and 100,000 Tk respectively. In addition, the two CEOs of the finalists will also have the chance to meet successful foreign startups and an $80,000 Huawei Cloud credit.
