Youri Tielemans has been called ‘four best players’ and someone who would be ‘perfect’ for Arsenal.
That’s the view of someone who came up against Leicester midfielder, former West Brom striker Hal Robson-Kanu.
The Gunners have been chasing the Belgium international for a long time and they were expected to replace him this summer.
With just one year left on his contract, the Foxes were reportedly forced to make a tough decision. Cash it in or lose it for nothing next summer.
£25million was thought to be the figure Leicester were after, but no offer came from Arsenal. Instead, they made several offers for Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz.
Tielemans is one of the highest rated midfielders playing outside a top four club and there will likely be a rush to sign him in 2023.
Robson-Kanu praised the 25-year-old when he joined Kick-Off on talkSPORT.
He said: “When it comes to Premier League players playing in a team where they are bigger than the team and better than the team, it [Tielemans] is 100% one of them.
“I played against him first hand. He’s in the top four players. His ball handling, the way he dictates the game, he’ll move the ball through the lines and receive the ball in tight spaces.
“He’s going to penetrate and hurt the opposition from a deeper place. That’s something for Arsenal fans, and the way they want to play, he would have been perfect for them.
“It wasn’t supposed to be obvious, but it will be an interesting time for Tielemans this summer.”
