Currently, end users can replace the background of a video conference or call with any image, if administrators have the feature enabled, and businesses cannot easily send a single image.
Microsoft is launching the feature in preview at the end of April, but businesses will need an Advanced Communications license when it is generally available in July.
Up to 50 images can be uploaded through the Teams admin center, can be in PNG and JPG format, and must be no smaller than 360x360px and no larger than 2048x2048px.
The feature is to be used with the background effects policy and responds to a long-standing demand from companies who want to add value to their organization.
