BEIJING, November 29, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Renowned Chinese spirits producer Wuliangye was named the most popular Chinese spirits brand at the “World’s Consumers’ Most Popular Chinese Brands” event, according to results released on Nov. 26.

The event was jointly organized by the National Brands Project Office of the Xinhua News Agency, the China Economic Information Service (CEIS) and other institutions.

An online vote was launched on May 10 among overseas consumers on their preferences for pre-selected Chinese brands by referring to data from mainstream media, industry associations, e-commerce platforms, and more. The list includes 137 Chinese brands in 11 categories, including automobiles, home appliances, pharmaceuticals and alcohol, etc.

During the month-long online voting period, overseas consumer votes for their favorite Chinese brands were collected on platforms such as Xinhuanet English Channel, CEIS Foreign Social Media Matrix, Google, dpa, InfoQuest , and many others. Wuliangye won the most votes among liquor brands.

Over 60 brands were shortlisted based on online voting, overseas influence and data goals. After review by a panel of experts, 50 Chinese brands, including Wuliangye, were finally named as the most popular Chinese brands.

Chinese spirits brands have the opportunity to strengthen their influence on a global scale.
