Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite is now in its last year of regular software updates with the release of the January 2021 Android security patch for the device.
The Mi A2 Lite will not receive an operating system upgrade above Android 10, but it will continue to receive security patch updates for a period of 180 days. This is the third year of updates for the device since its release in July 2018. The phone, in its current form, can no longer receive another operating system upgrade, but would still have issues. security updates through July 2021.
The Mi A2 Lite security patch also provides system performance optimizations and improved overall stability.
As a tradition, Xiaomi always includes “ Optimized system performance ” and “ Improved system security and stability ” in the changelog for security patch updates. Therefore, we can imagine that the current security patch V11.0.17.0.QDLMIXM probably only upgrades the Mi A2 Lite to the latest security patch from Google.
The security patch V11.0.17.0.QDLMIXM should arrive as a small OTA (over-the-air) download with a size of 16MB. The patch integrates with your device so that a notification is received by the user, that a new update is now available for download. On the other hand, if for some reason you have not yet received a notification that an update is available, you can download the patch and install it.
Please note that the installation file is hosted on Xiaomi’s servers. The same goes for Recovery and Quickboot ROMs, which can be downloaded and flashed if you have any issues on your Mi A2 Lite.
