Xiaomi 13T Pro HyperOS update with Android 14 is now widely rolling out in Europe – GSMArena.com News – GSMArena.com

Xiaomi is done with MIUI. Last October, the company’s CEO Lei Jun officially revealed the next iteration of the company’s skin on Android. It’s called HyperOS and will soon be rolling out to a number of Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco devices.

Today, HyperOS has started to be widely released on Xiaomi 13T Pro units in Europe. It’s coming live as a 5.8GB download, so make sure you have enough space for that before continuing.

Xiaomi 13T Pro Hyper OS update with Android 14

Once the installation is complete (and be careful, it takes a while), you will be on version 1.0.3.0.UMLEUXM of the operating system. Of course, HyperOS is based on Android 14, so that will also be there below. The Xiaomi 13T Pro also receives the December 1, 2023 security patch level with this update.

The changelog is pretty comprehensive (see screenshots above), but we must caution you against expecting HyperOS to deviate wildly from MIUI. Sure, there are a few new features, but overall the appearance has been slightly improved and hasn’t been fundamentally changed. This would have been adopted for MIUI 15, or even MIUI 14.5, without problem.

So we suspect the rebranding is more about marketing (let’s face it – HyperOS sounds way better than MIUI) than anything else at the moment. Of course, this could all change with future releases.

Back to the changelog: it mentions that performance is optimized for each device, which is good, but we didn’t feel any difference in real-world usage compared to MIUI. Again, it was very fast and incredibly smooth at first. We have not yet had time to evaluate the claimed improvements in energy efficiency and signal stability.

The lock screen is now highly customizable, with several effects and looks, and some home screen icons have been refreshed. The multi-window interface also received an upgrade. And of course, any behind-the-scenes improvements Google makes should also be integrated.

The rollout is likely to happen in stages, so if you own a European Xiaomi 13T Pro (which is the case if it has “EU” in the MIUI version string), you may not have received yet the update notification. But it’s only a matter of days now that the ball is rolling. And by the way, this isn’t a beta, or a “stable beta”, or a release intended only for testers enrolled in a testing program – this is the real deal. addressed to everyone.
