While there has been a lot of talk about how important WWE is looking to bring to this year’s SummerSlam PPV, there is now news of equally important plans for the Survivor 2021 series.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is hopeful that Dwayne Johnson makes an appearance in this year’s edition of the Society’s November Basics.
Bringing up the Rock to Survivor Series has yet to be locked down, but WWE officials are hoping the Great One will appear on the show in some form or manner – which, if it did happen, would add a lot more fuel to the fire where he relates those rumors of The Rock vs. Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 38.
When there were rumors of Rock vs Reigns last year, the general consensus seemed to be that such a contest would not take place in 2021 and would rather be more realistic for the following year.
At this point, WWE has yet to officially confirm a date for Survivor Series 2021, although André Zarian from the Mat Men podcast reports that the PPV will be held in Brooklyn.
Where plans for Rock come into play, rumors and innuendos claim that WWE Champion Roman Reigns will face a return of John Cena at this year’s SummerSlam, possibly locked up at some point with a return of Brock Lesnar, then will turn his attention to the fight against the Rock at WrestleMania 38.
