It has never been denied that Randy Orton is doing his best as a WWE villain.
But his recent feud with Edge gave the 39-year-old player a new lease of life before heading to WrestleMania 36.

Orton was looking for a WrestleMania clash for this year and he launched very public challenges to the likes of The Rock and John Cena in 2019.
However, Edge’s return and the pair’s history have made him one of the hottest angles in professional wrestling right now.
On RAW last night, Edge’s wife and WWE Hall of Fame Beth Phoenix returned to give an update on her husband’s health, and Orton halted proceedings.
After a long and fascinating promo, The Viper insisted that it was all Phoenix’s fault and it earned him a slap from the former Divas champion.
What did she get for her slap? You guessed it – an RKO. Take a look below …
Several moons ago, Orton broke and sometimes did sadistic things to women in the ring.
He once had RKO’d Stacy Keibler, and the most famous hit his death blow on Stephanie McMahon in 2007, sparking a bloody rivalry with her husband Triple H.
Most recently, he hit an RKO on Nia Jax in the 2019 Royal Rumble match, but it was in the context of a match.
It has been a long time since a man attacked a woman on WWE TV.
It’s 2020, not the Attitude era. It’s very important for WWE to put this on TV these days, but the reception of the segment has been extremely positive.
Especially because Phoenix refused to cower on Orton and was able to get up afterwards.
WWE now has a hot angle towards WrestleMania 36 and the gain is sure to be excellent.
