And next is another giant potential FA Cup murder
The three-division gap might seem like a step too far for a team taken over by Hollywood royalty Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney just two years ago, but they’ve done it once before.
A 4-3 win over United’s Championship side Coventry is the shock of the cup so far, but for their top scorer and talisman Mullin, it was business as usual.
“With the Coventry game in particular and the Sheffield United game, we expect to win the game and are doing our best to win the game,” he said.
“We have a plan in place and are working on it to beat the opponent no matter who they are and I think the guys in the dressing room came into the Coventry game full of belief that we could go and get the job done.
“For us it was back to bigger games on Tuesday which is the league, it’s your bread and butter, where you make your money and I think Tuesday was just as important. [2-1 vs promotion rivals Bromley] but we won’t be afraid to enter any game.
The league is certainly Wrexham’s place of glory, with their pursuit of that elusive football league promotion the subject of the hit Disney+ documentary Welcome to Wrexham.

Mullin is one of the stars of the hit show
Along with Reynolds and McElenney, Mullin is the star of the show, with his impressive return of 45 goals in 64 games putting the Reds on course to achieve their goal.
The striker described the ownership duo as fantastic, saying “they’re just like us” and complimenting their approachability and down-to-earth nature.
Wrexham now boast a record 25 wins from 34 matches in all competitions this season with just two losses, and they sit five clear positions at the top of the table with a 15-match unbeaten streak.
Mullin was asked about his decision to leave Cambridge – which he had just guided to League One by breaking the fourth tier’s goalscoring record – to join the Wrexham revolution, but it is paying off so far.
“For me, it was kind of a rinse and repeat,” he said. “Throughout my career anyone can look at the stats if they want, but I had already scored goals most of the time without starting games and playing out of position.
“When I went to Cambridge I just knew I needed playing time to show that I could do it full-time rather than part-time outside the substitutes’ bench.
“I loved it, the manager was great and the whole town was fantastic to me and I loved my time there but going to Wrexham was the same.
“I don’t care what anyone has to say about me or what other people expect, it’s just what I expect from myself, the only pressure I can put on myself is from myself and that doesn’t couldn’t be bigger.”
Liverpool-born Mullin, who was at both Everton and Liverpool academies, pointed out in Welcome to Wrexham how important it was to return to the Northwest, a decision he now cherishes.
“My little boy has been a big part of bringing me home and it’s the best thing I’ve ever done,” the 28-year-old explained.
“Being witness to his evolution over the last few years, being able to see him every day and giving him a real routine has helped him a lot, and me too, because mentally it’s hard when you don’t see him every day.

Mullin loves his role in the Wrexham revolution
“Coming home was great for me but coming to Wrexham was even better, since I’ve been here I’ve loved every minute and coming home every night to see my partner, my baby and the rest of my family. family.
“It relieves some pressure that comes from outside, I try not to be bothered by it but it comes naturally but when you come home at the end of the day and see your family you don’t care. don’t sit on it as a long one.”
The impact on Mullin is certainly clear, and on the City too, with the striker praising the “true” ownership of a duo who “want to help the community”.
This is not only reflected in the help around town, but also in their beloved team finally on the rise.
Commenting on the 4,000 Wrexham fans who were in attendance in Coventry, Mullin remarked: “It’s really the Premier League support.
“We would have sold double if we had received the tickets, which gives them credit because they work hard to pay and travel to come see us, not to mention come to home games which are sold out. also.

Wrexham fans easily sell their home and away allowance
“It’s an absolute honor for us to play in front of them because not many teams can do that, but it’s something we relish and appreciate because ultimately without them we’re not here.
“I can only say from the moment I signed for the club, but since I came here it’s only been the owners trying to help the community and the club to move on. next step, what they are doing for food banks and surrounding areas .
“The attention they have given to Wrexham, they have people coming to support them from afar.
“They come to watch us play and there are now young children who want to support Wrexham, I have received many messages about how in recent years young children have been walking around Liverpool in Manchester United and Chelsea, all the top teams.

Wrexham forwards Mullin and Ollie Palmer are adored by club supporters
“Now I get a lot of messages saying they are now all proud of their Wrexham tops with Mullin in the back or [Ollie] palm tree or [Aaron] Hayden so that’s great to see.
“I hope this can keep the community moving forward because they are really committed to coming to the games, they work hard for their money but they spend it watching us so we will try to pay them back.”
By now, there’s no doubt fans are being rewarded, with goal number one currently on the way to being achieved and cup dreams in full swing.
But if Mullin can keep scoring at his current rate, it surely won’t be long before the shirts become murals, with legendary status on the line as Wrexham aim for history.
