LOS ANGELES, CA – One of two women sued by Justin Bieber for libel after accusing him of sexual assault in social media posts attended a brief hearing in the case on Thursday and acted as his own lawyer.
Khadidja Djibrine Khadi appeared before Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Terry A. Green, who referred the case to private mediation. It has also scheduled a July 27 status conference, a post-mediation status conference on February 16, a final status conference and trial on April 18 and May 2, respectively, next year. .
The second woman, identified only as Jane Doe 1, did not appear or send a representative.
The 27-year-old Canadian singer sued the two women in June 2020. Jane Doe 1, who was called Danielle, claimed to be assaulted by Bieber at an Austin, Texas hotel in March 2014. She maintains this afterwards. a surprise performance. in front of a crowd at a bar, Bieber invited her and two friends to a hotel, where she claims he took her to a private room and assaulted her.
Khadi alleged in his tweet that Bieber sexually assaulted her at a New York City hotel in May 2015.
Bieber’s attorneys contend that both claims can be refuted by eyewitnesses who knew where Bieber was in those days and by photographic images obtained by the paparazzi.
Bieber has been married to 24-year-old model Hailey Baldwin since 2018.
