Wolves have reportedly edged Manchester United in pursuit of Juventus winger Douglas Costa.
The Brazilian, who has won three Serie A titles in three years at Turin, has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in recent seasons.
Andrea Pirlo is believed to be ready to allow the 30-year-old to leave as he plans a major team rebuild ahead of the new season.
According to Tuttosport, United are set to miss Costa’s services as Wolves step up their pursuit of the experienced broad man.
The Midlands club have allowed Diogo Jota to join champions Liverpool and have identified the Brazil international as a replacement.
The same report claims Portuguese super-agent Jorge Mendes would be at the center of the deal, making life easier for both sides.

Earlier this week, Mendes helped facilitate Nelson Semedo’s £ 29million arrival to Wolves from Barcelona.
Semedo started his career with the Portuguese third division team Sintrense before making a name for himself with Benfica, with whom he won two league titles.
He joined Barcelona in 2017 and made 124 appearances for the Catalan giants, including 42 last season.
