Finally, Microsoft may have just released a new Windows Store experience that could entice users unhappy with the platform to come back and use it.
As noted by Microsoft Principal architect Rudy Huynon, the tech giant has released Microsoft Store version 22403. This is a major update that has been beta tested with Windows Insiders over the past two weeks and is now rolling out to all Windows 11 users.
The update, which has been rolling out globally to Windows 11 users, will load much faster than the previous version, according to Huyn’s X post. Huyn added that the update will load product pages around 40% faster. Additionally, the Buy button on product listings will load much faster, allowing users to get the apps they want without waiting.
The Microsoft Store (formerly known as Windows Store) has been an integral part of Windows operating systems since Windows 8. However, the Microsoft Store has been completely rebuilt for Windows 11, reflecting its importance to Microsoft’s broader software strategy .
Indeed, the Microsoft Store is a potential boon for the company. This is the gateway through which users can access almost any app they want (except Google Chrome, which has remained outside the Microsoft Store due to the ongoing conflict between Microsoft and Google). If they spend money on downloads, Microsoft can generate a share of that revenue.
However, during launch, users complained that the Microsoft Store was running slowly and not living up to the hype. Microsoft offered updates over time, but the Microsoft Store continued to experience issues.
However, over the past few weeks, Windows Insiders have reported that the Microsoft Store is working better. Now, with the update they were now using public, this would suggest that all Windows 11 users should see the same result. But as with any other software, your mileage may vary.
