Earlier today, Zac Bowden from Windows Central tweeted what he called the “first look at Windows 10X for single screen PCs.” It features a redesigned Start menu that sits in the middle of the screen and all of the app icons below. Overall, this looks like a cross between ChromeOS and macOS, but take a look and decide for yourself below.
Bowden also claims he should have more to share soon, but in the meantime that’s what we need to work with, and it seems somewhat polarizing. Some people compare it to older versions of macOS, while others say it looks a bit like Android and not in a good way, and others don’t like it at all. On the other hand, some Twitter users found it nice and clean. It looks like the frosty or blurry menu background is a fan favorite, but many of the thread users just said they liked it without explaining why.

If, and eventually when, new screenshots come out, it would be nice to see what the filesystem looks like next. Also, if any changes needed to be made, keeping app icons left-aligned or making their position optional would be a good thing. Whatever happens, let us know what you think of this Windows 10X image in the comments below.
