Those hoping Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift might have an in-person reunion tonight at the 2023 Grammys will have to wait another year. Gomez chose not to attend the show tonight for good reason: she has no direct nominations, despite being credited in Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres album nomination for Album of the Year, as she collaborated with the band on “Let Somebody Go”.
Gomez has been to New York, where she is currently filming Only murders in the buildingwith co-stars Steve Martin and Martin Short, plus this season’s stars Paul Rudd and Meryl Streep.
Gomez shared a photo of the group together on her Instagram. “Very, very grateful lady! @onlymurdershulu @hulu @johnnyhoffman5 thank you for making this an incredibly and absurdly happy human being 💤🌥️,” she wrote on Jan. 17.
Gomez was last pictured in New York on February 3, looking across the country at tonight’s ceremony in Los Angeles.
Gomez could be at the Grammys next year as she teased she has new music coming out this year. She said SHE in its September 2021 issue that “I don’t think I’ll ever stop making music”. She added that she always felt like she was trying to prove herself. “I’m not saying I want a Grammy. I just feel like I’m doing my best, and it’s all up to me. Sometimes it can really get to me.
