Tampa, Clearwater and Sarasota have them and now it looks like St. Petersburg will finally have a Whole Foods too. Whole Foods has yet to confirm the news on its website, but the Tampa Bay Business Journal reports tonight that the location has been determined. Their sources tell them that Whole Foods will move to 203 38th Avenue North in the Old Northeast section of town, just off 4th Street.
It seems their sources are talking about something, as the current occupier already posted on Facebook on Friday that he told them to move out this summer. Suncoast Fitness has announced it will close in June or July and hopes to move nearby. They even confirmed the Whole Foods rumor that this is what their owner plans to build on the property.
The TBBJ notes that there is a Dollar General and a cafe near this fitness center which is in the process of closing, but it is not yet known whether they will be affected by the arrival of Whole Foods. Whole Foods will have competition near Publix and Trader Joes. [Source: TBBJ]
