The guns, the explosions, the chemistry – and that was exactly what was happening when the cameras were rolling, but how could we forget what happened behind the scenes?
While the two stars, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, fell in love on set while the former was already married to Jennifer Aniston, fans were completely engrossed in all the drama.
And now, with the impossible task of living up to all that hype, there’s a new reimagining of the 2005 New Regency film, also titled Mr. and Mrs. Smithbut this time it will be in series form.
Amazon Studios has confirmed the new series, along with its expected release date, plot, and main cast. So below we’ve put together everything you need to know about it before tuning in.

What is Mr. and Mrs. Smith Around 2024?
Mr. and Mrs. Smith follows two strangers, John and Jane, who give up their identities to become partners – in espionage and in marriage.
According to the synopsis, accompanied by a mysterious agency, each episode follows them on a new mission and a new stage in their relationship. When the cracks begin to appear, they must fight to stay together. Because in this marriage, divorce is not an option.
The series is said to have a very different tone than the original blockbuster, centering on two spies who get married without knowing they share the same job – and are on a mission to kill each other.

Who is included Mr. and Mrs. Smith 2024?
Donald GloverSwarm, Atlanta) and Maya Erskine (PEN15) star in the new series as John and Jane Smith, respectively.
Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Flea bag) was originally cast as Jane Smith, but she left the project over “classic creative differences,” according to Glover.
Glover also serves as co-creator and executive producer, alongside Francesca Sloane (Atlanta, Fargo) For Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

Mr. and Mrs. Smith debuts in early 2024 and will be available to stream exclusively on Prime Video. No official release date has been announced yet.
