After teasing for over a year, the famous social messaging app WhatsApp finally launched its dark mode functionality for iOS and Android users recently. The Facebook-owned messaging app has been working on the dark mode functionality for a long time, and in that process it had released a multitude of Android Beta versions for Android.
“This feature is designed so that if you are using the phone in low light conditions your eyes will not be stressed. Hopefully it will also relieve you of these situations when the phone is switched on all over piece as soon as you turn on the phone, “the company said in a blog post.
How to activate the dark mode function of WhatsApp on Android smartphones:
The dark mode feature is gradually rolling out for everyone and if you don’t see it yet, just install the latest WhatsApp update from the Google Play Store.
Once you’ve installed the latest version of the app, follow these steps:
If your updated Android 10 OS or iOS 13 phone has already activated the system-wide dark theme, WhatsApp will automatically switch to the dark theme.
However, if you are a user of Android 9 or lower operating system, just go to the WhatsApp settings menu and activate the dark theme manually:
-Go to the Settings option
-Tap on Cats
-In Chats, press Display
-After tapping on Display, you will be able to see the theme
-Choose Dark Theme to activate it
Apart from that, two important themes are also available for all Android users. The dark theme is already discussed. Let’s look at the other themes available.
Light theme: Ithis is the usual white theme that you have always used for all these years.
Defined by the battery saver: This setting automatically switches to the light / dark theme, depending on your battery saver settings.
Once the settings are activated, simply restart the phone and you will see a dark WhatsApp splash screen.
Many users around the world have been waiting for the dark theme feature for a long time because not only does it put less pressure in the eyes, but it also reduces your phone’s battery drain.
