Post-season route of the Christian Academy: Defeat Ballard 64-32 in the final of the 28th district; defeated Central 67-59 in the quarterfinals of the seventh region; defeated the Assumption 57-44 in the semi-final of the seventh region.

Notes: Callie Birk joined the Sacré Coeur starting line-up when goalkeeper Destinee Marshall was released on February 21 after being injured in the hand in a car accident. Marshall, a Radford signatory who averaged 13.4 points per game, is absent from the playoffs. … CAL will be deprived of junior goalkeeper Sydney Raque (8.7 points per game, 3.2 tpg) after suffering a concussion in the first quarter of Monday’s regional quarter-final victory against Central. … Both teams were ranked among the top 10 in the state in the last Associated Press poll of the season, the Valkyries at # 2 and the Centurions at # 8.… The region’s seventh champion will face the 13th champion from the region (Clay County, South Laurel, North Laurel or Bell County) during the first round of the Mingua Beef Jerky / KHSAA Sweet 16 at noon Thursday at Rupp Arena in Lexington.
