If you’re anything like us, you’ve probably wondered what celebrities add to their shopping carts. Not the JAR brooch and the Louis XV chair but the hair spray and the electric toothbrush. Jessica Alba, actress and founder of The Honest Company, talked to us about the olive oil and seasoned salt she puts on everything, the jeans she stole her daughter, and the sleep enhancing smart ring who “screams” at her.

Jane's Krazy Salt Blend

I have been an actress since I was 12 years old. I’ve lived in so many hotels and random places, so I always take salt with me when I travel. Jane’s Krazy Mixed-up Salt is my favorite. It’s a seasoned salt, and it makes everything taste better. A friend of mine who my husband grew up with brought it one day. We stole it and used it so quickly that now we buy it all the time. I’ve always tried to incorporate lots of flavors and spices into most things I make. Who wants bland food?

Brightland Ardor Oil

I love cooking with Brightland. I’ve tried so many of their flavors and vinegars, but it’s a bit of a hassle because I go through too quickly. I couldn’t even tell you how much I’m going through specifically. I put it on literally everything from pasta to vegetables. I make salad dressings and marinades with it. They are all super versatile and taste great, but their chili is so delicious. Jalapeños were a staple at my dinner table growing up. We put them on just about everything: turkey at Thanksgiving, guacamole and salsa, omelettes, breakfast tacos. I grew up always having a bit of chili flavor. And now I still like to incorporate these flavors into my cooking. My kids love it too.

They have some amazingly awesome clothes on Amazon. I saw them and thought they were so cute. I originally bought these for my daughter Honor because I thought they would look good on her, but when they arrived I tried them on just to see how they fit. And I never gave them to him. They are really elegant yet comfortable. I share stuff from time to time with Honor, but she tells me that when I wear stuff she likes too, it looks like a mom thing, while she looks like a cool teenager. I’m like, “Well, that’s super rude.”

Le Creuset Enameled Cast Iron Crepe Pan

I make a lot of pancakes. It’s a really fun thing to have for breakfast or dinner. And my kids love it, whether I’m making savory or sweet dishes. They are easier to make with a pancake pan than with a regular frying pan or the like because you can get the perfect size and consistency. I worked on my technique.

Small Verie hoops by Valeria Lipovetsky

I have a bunch of piercings, so I love earrings. I found this really cool brand on Instagram, Verie, which was started by Valeria Lipovetsky, actually. She’s a mom of three and so funny and super fashionable. When we met, she told me about her fashion and jewelry line, and I was so in love with everything she did. I always gravitate towards his kind of business too: it’s handmade with an ethical supply chain, and it’s very creative. I love her simple golden hoops and hugs. These are really beautiful everyday pieces.

Oura Heritage

It is a more functional jewel. I haven’t slept well for a while and I travel a lot. It tracks my sleep so I know what works for me and what doesn’t. It also reminds me to get up and take a walk. He yells at me, which is nice. I need this. I think my sleep has improved a lot since using it.

The big The Boxy Crew

These t-shirts are awesome. I have them in all kinds of colors. They’re super flattering and cute, but they’re so comfy. I wear them on airplanes. I wear them to run errands. I wear them to sleep. I literally wear them whenever I can. They are the best.

Honest Beauty Calm Heal Melting Balm

Many melting balms contain petroleum, chemicals, and synthetic fragrances that can clog your pores. Although they have a great texture, depending on your skin type, you may actually react to them. I wanted this one to work for all skin types – dry skin, eczema, psoriasis, anything. It is made with mondo grass and hyaluronic acid to moisturize the skin, and allantoin, which is an amazing healing ingredient. It also contains our calming phyto blend, which helps support the skin barrier. I just made a film in the high deserts of New Mexico. It went from 110 degrees to 38 degrees by the end of filming, and I was driving back and forth from my house every week to be with my kids and work with my Honest crew. The melting balm saved my skin during this period. I put on my fuzzy headband to keep my hair back, then I literally brushed it morning and night and just let it soak into my skin.
