Harry Kane insisted there was no reason for fans to panic over England’s poor form.
The Three Lions were relegated to the UEFA Nations League after a 1-0 loss to Italy at the San Siro sealed their fate.
As things stand, Gareth Southgate’s side have picked up just two points from five matches so far, with only one Wembley clash against Germany remaining.
While the Nations League results have been lackluster, fans are eagerly awaiting the World Cup in Qatar this winter.
Although Kane acknowledges England haven’t been good enough, the Tottenham star believes her form must be maintained in context, with the World Cup being where she really needs to prove herself.
He said: “We are not panicking. Of course, I understand the fans’ frustration.
“I was an England fan and I still am an England fan whether I play or not. I get it.
“But at the end of the day, we are going to be judged on what happens in November.
“If we have a successful tournament, I’m not sure people will worry about the fate we had this summer – and that’s the main thing.
“We know the results weren’t what we wanted.
“As a group we know what we are doing and we will fight through this difficult time.
“A full house at Wembley against Germany will be great preparation for the World Cup.”
