Jenna Ortega: Billie Eilish was “the Mood Board” for Wednesday Addams
During her candid chat with the publication, Jenna Ortega said the most critical aspect of playing Wednesday Addams on Wednesday for the 20-year-old actress was that “we weren’t doing it like all the other teenage girls.” Interestingly, Ortega revealed that Grammy and Oscar-winning musician Billie Elish was on “the mood board” when Wednesday’s crew saw her popular character’s gothic look and wardrobe. . Wednesday – created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar – is an eight-episode (four were directed by Tim Burton, who also serves as executive producer) supernatural horror-comedy television series based on Addams Family member Wednesday Addams, Morticia Addams (Catherine Zeta-Jones) and Gomez Addams’ (Luis Guzmán) teenage daughter. Notably, Wednesday also stars Christina Ricci — who had her own role as Wednesday Addams in 1991’s The Addam Family — as Marilyn Thornhill/Laurel Gates, a Nevermore Academy teacher with a passion for plants.
Wednesday’s official synopsis reads: “The series is an insidious, supernatural mystery retracing Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy.
