Wednesday season two: Executive producer delights fans by confirming a second series of Netflix’s dark drama could be on the cards
A Wednesday second season could be on the way, the show’s executive producer has confirmed.
Alfred Gough, co-creator and executive producer of the dark Netflix drama, hinted at a possible follow-up, saying there’s “definitely more you can explore in the world of The Addams.”
Speaking to Empire, Gough said: ‘[Screenwriter] Miles Millar and I talk about it among ourselves. There’s definitely more you can explore in the Addams World.

In an interview with TV Line, Millar also confirmed that talks are underway – with producers keen to focus on other members of the iconic family, rather than Wednesday (Jenna Ortega).
He revealed that a possible plot for a second series could be to further explore the relationship between Wednesday and his mother, Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones).
Millar said, “We felt like we were touching the surface with these characters and the actors are so amazing in these roles.”
“Catherine is, I think, an iconic Morticia. The relationship between Wednesday and Morticia is also central to the series, and the idea of Wednesday trying to forge her own path outside of family is important.

‘[We] I really want to feature the family like we did this season in a few episodes if we were to get a second season.
Tim Burton’s new spinoff of the iconic Addams Family focuses on the goth teenager on Wednesday.
The show landed on Netflix last week and rocketed straight to the top of the most-watched list, beating The Crown, 1899 and Dead to Me.
The chilling drama sees Zeta-Jones play the one and only Morticia, and her husband Gomez played by Luis Guzmán, along with Uncle Fester (Fred Armisen) and Pugsley (Isaac Ordonez).

Christina Ricci, who played Wednesday in The Addams Family (1991) and Addams Family Values (1993) also has a guest appearance on the Netflix show as Miss Thornhill.
The first season ends with the teenage goth returning home for the holidays after her first term at Nevermore Academy, where she honed her psychic abilities and solved mysteries.
The first series left many storylines open, including who Wednesday’s sinister stalker is.
