Sam Mac reveals how fatherhood has changed his life – as he poses for stunning photoshoot with newborn daughter Margot and girlfriend Rebecca James: ‘I don’t think anything can prepare you’
Sam Mac is a new father – and his life will never be the same.
The Sunrise weatherman tells in this week’s issue of Stellar Magazine that life with his now 12-week-old daughter Margot and girlfriend Rebecca James is more than he dreamed of.
“I don’t think anything can prepare you for this moment, the first seconds you see your child,” the 40-year-old said.

“I constantly replay it in my head, this little purple thing that comes out and looks up at my eyes,” he continued.
“And just the feeling, we have to protect you and take care of you forever. You are no longer the most important person in your world.
“It’s such a responsibility but also such a great privilege.”
“I don’t think anything can prepare you for this moment, the first seconds you see your child,” the 40-year-old said.
Sam says her professional life has also changed – and filming on location with the baby in tow is a challenge.
“I used to go away for three nights with a small carry bag. But now it’s a full-fledged operation,” he told the magazine.
“Traveling with Margot requires you to travel with more stuff than the television crew – and that includes a satellite, lighting and cameras”.
“And just the feeling, we have to protect you and take care of you forever. You are no longer the most important person in your world,’ he added.
“It’s such a responsibility but also such a great privilege,” Sam said.
Sam and Rebecca welcomed their first child together in September.
The couple announced the birth of their baby girl on Instagram and revealed they named her Margot Grace McMillan.
“It’s a love I didn’t even know existed. I’m overwhelmed and still processing everything right now. My girls. Wow, he began.
Sam says her professional life has also changed – and filming on location with the baby in tow is a challenge. “I used to go away for three nights with a small carry bag. But now it’s a full operation,” he told the magazine.
“Rebecca was (and is) a warrior. I will never forget what she has been through for the past nine months, and especially these last few days for our little family.

Sam announced he was going to be a father for the first time on Instagram in April.
The couple, who have been dating since 2020 when their friendship turned into romance, bought a house in Sydney’s west together in October.
