Dwayne Johnson is a man who conquers everything he strives for. Since his fateful football exit, the man has been busy and turned $7 into $800 million. But while he could have climbed to the top of WWE’s mountain and become Hollywood’s highest-paid actor, there’s one area where he’s still learning and improvising, business.

While entrepreneurial opportunities have been plentiful, two have exploded under the Johnson brand. One is already the best-selling liquor in America, Teremana Tequila, and the second is the energy drink Zoa. While Teremana has been really successful for The Rock, Zoa has faced stiff competition. And a contestant employee also has some choice words for The Rock.

VP of Marketing Operations at G Fuel comments on Johnson’s Zoa

In an exclusive interview with “Essentially Rasslin,” Ishan Chavan asked Rob Kligman about Dwayne Johnson’s Zoa energy drink.

G’s VP of Fuel Market Operations responded, “I like to think we’re winning, and that’s really important and it’s all about shelf space. So, I feel like I won’t say where, but I think we win on storage space comparing to Zoa. But it’s a big market. I think energy drinks are exactly what everyone is looking for when they go to their convenience store, supermarket or even online. We have created an excellent brand identity.

More than a year ago

So when you think of G Fuel, you certainly think of the gaming base, whether it’s casual or serious gamers. And I think what happens to some of these other brands is that you risk losing their identity. Zoa, maybe outside of The Rock. I don’t really know what that means and what it really is.

“So I’m biased because of G Fuel, but I’d say competition breeds the best in everyone, like we’ve seen with AEW and WWE. It’s allowed WWE to step up their game. J I like to think that with Zoa, it just allows G Fuel to step up their game and continue to be a leader in their vertical.

Although, as he mentioned, Kligman has some bias, Zoa’s identity is a serious question for Dwayne Johnson. Do you think Johnson would respond to this criticism and change some of the inner workings of his energy drink business? Only time will tell.
