Sony Music Australia’s vice president of marketing for Australian artists, Wayne Ringrow, has left the company, according to multiple sources this afternoon.

RTM was advised of the departure this afternoon and Sony’s local operations and New York headquarters have been contacted for comment.

The nature of Ringrow’s apparent departure is not yet clear.

He joined the organization in 1992. In recent years he has been responsible for leading the marketing division of Australian artists and overseeing the creation of local content. In 2016, he also took over the management division of artists Parade de la major. Last year, in addition to his responsibilities for marketing and managing Australian artists, he began overseeing the marketing of New Zealand national artists.

The major record label’s local operations have come under scrutiny in recent times, with its head office launching an investigation into a culture of harassment and intimidation.

Within days, longtime CEO Denis Handlin left the company and, in a note to staff, acknowledged that it was “time for a change”.

Other executives soon followed as well, with Handlin’s son Pat Handlin, who had been vice president of A&R, and Mark Stebnicki, who had been vice president of strategy, corporate affairs and resources. human beings, also leaving.

RTM understands that the investigation is ongoing and is not accusing Wither Handlin, Stebnicki or Ringrow of any wrongdoing.

When Tony Glover was sacked by the organization earlier this year on wrongdoing charges, it was Ringrow who broke the news to staff on a late afternoon teleconference.
