Greetings, Leonardo DiCaprio! You are a global treasure, and after hearing this story, we think it’s time for you to calm down a bit and stop almost dying. Leo, Scorsese needs you. We need your help.
The actor took to The Ellen Show to tell Our Lady of Dances some spooky anecdotes from his past while promoting his upcoming tough desert survival epic, The Revenant. Leo began with a virtuoso description of his deadliest personal experience after warming up the audience with a story about the one and only time he went skydiving.
Leo was apparently looking out the window on a trip to Russia when the engine burst in a huge explosion. The actor said, “I kind of felt like I was already dead and gone to heaven since nobody said anything.” “‘But what is going on here?’ I was screaming at the top of my voice.”
Leo varied his plot by bringing in a soft-spoken flight attendant from the South, “We seem to have a bit of a problem here,” he drawls, understanding that a good story requires more than one man. He also inserts a sullen Russian passenger who says, “That’s not good,” when told he’s lost half his engine power. Luckily the plane made an emergency landing and Leo was not lost.
Below, see DiCaprio’s deadpan take on the account of the plane explosion, complete with accents.
