Mike Perry posted a video on his Instagram page showing him knocking out a drunk man who allegedly hit him outside an Orlando nightclub.
“Platinum” is reputed to be one of the craziest fighters on the UFC list, but admitted in the post on his social media page that he acted the same as any other individual.
The 28-year-old made it clear to his 477,000 subscribers that the video was a step backwards and that he had not broken the social distancing protocol in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Although it was not clear if Perry had been drinking, he maintained that his attacker was drunk and continued to follow him before the welterweight intervened and dropped him with a left hook.
He wrote: “Goin [sic] to the beach boy! #Tbt #ViralChallenge #YOLO He had just hit me in the mouth. (Why do you think they started recording) I created space, he followed with his ball fists.
“As I got into position around the girl, he started or turned away from what his drunk ass was doing which pestered me. He didn’t want to stop so I stopped him.
“I launched the jab / hook for a few seconds before it looked to the left. I could have continued to strike him down and beat him to death, but I left and spoke to the police. If you act like you’ve already done something for me, believe you’re playing with fire, you’re going to [sic] burn.
“If you can take care of your space and your social distance from my personal bubble, everything can be resolved by conversation.
“Judge me for whatever you want for your screams to put yourself in the hypocrite, but I live an honest life and I am the most truthful person I know.
“I share my life with all of you, so please believe if you want to get involved in something that you weren’t involved in that you, yo mama, yo papa, yo wife, husbands, sisters , brothers, daughters, sons, and grandmas and grandpas can also have these professional fighter hands, because it’s ok to hit me but not ok when I fight back. Check yourself! “
Perry has lost three of his last five fights, supporting a horrible broken nose against Vicente Luque in August 2019 before being himself eliminated in the first round against Geoff Neal at UFC 245.
Last January, he posted a video on YouTube showing him knocking down his fiancée during a combat session after swearing in “f *** up”.
