The Subaru Family Huckster is finally ready for its star turn Gymkhana 2022. Travis Pastrana slides and jumps the 862 horsepower (643 kilowatts) around Florida. He sustains a serious injury along the way, but the car has nothing to do with the trauma he suffered.
The action begins with Pastrana lying on the beach. He climbs into the nearby Family Huckster and hits the road for the video’s first big stunt. Pastrana jumps the Subaru off a bridge and onto a row of freeway dividers. The car goes through them like a giant skateboard.

Later, Pastrana pushes the Family Huckster at top speed over a long bridge. The speedometer reads 165 mph (266 km/h) and a jet flies to match the speed of the car.
All that speed is needed for Pastrana to pull off a massive leap. It covers an entire span of a bridge in the air. The Family Huckster comes in for a hard landing. In the takes during the credits, it looks like an attempt damaged the Subaru’s nose.
It’s not the only bridge jump in Gymkhana 2022. To raise the bar, Pastrana also jumps onto a reach without solid ground below. To add to the challenge, there’s a hovering helicopter to overcome.
Pastrana’s injury comes at the very end after the credits. He BASE jumps off a building but hits the ground hard. He thinks he has a cracked pelvis, and doctors think there’s a possibility of internal damage.
The Family Huckster is supposed to look like an early 1980s Subaru GL. However, it has a 3D modeled tubular frame and carbon fiber tub. Pastrana can deploy active aero elements from the fenders and a rear wing when it needs extra downforce for a stunt. Power comes from a 2.3-liter turbocharged boxer engine.
The retro-looking wagon has plenty of performance capability. At the 2022 Goodwood Hillclimb he was the fourth fastest competitor with a time of 46.2 seconds.
