With a recorded 0-62 mph acceleration time of 3.2 seconds, the current Audi RS6 Avant Performance is likely the fastest RS6 in history. With a power output of 621 horsepower and 627 pound-feet, however, it is not the most powerful in the model’s two decades of history. That title probably goes to the RS6 Nogaro Edition from the previous generation of the fast wagon.

Unveiled in 2018, the RS6 Nogaro Edition was limited to just 150 examples and was modified by ABT as part of a cooperation between the German carmaker and the tuning company. The company managed to boost the vehicle’s 4.0-liter V8 to 695 horsepower and 649 lb-ft, which is enough for a 0-60 mph sprint in 3.7 seconds. Top speed is limited to 199 miles per hour with the Dynamic Package Plus. Without the package, top speed is electronically limited to 155 mph.

A new video from AutoTopNL Channel takes us aboard one of 150 RS6 Nogaro Edition models for a high-speed run down the highway. The eight-minute video attached at the top of this page shows the fast wagon at various speeds on the German autobahn, which is surprisingly light on this day. The highest speed recorded by the camera is 313 kilometers per hour, which equates to around 194 mph. That’s not quite the top speed Audi promises, but it’s still a very impressive figure for a family vehicle.

A few months after the release of the RS6 Nogaro Edition, ABT launched an even more powerful version of the vehicle. The RS6+ Avant Performance Nogaro Edition increased the power of the V8 engine to 735 hp thanks to a new engine control unit that continuously adjusts 25 parameters. There is also a new stainless steel exhaust system with a replacement front muffler pipe. According to official information, this car should be able to reach 100 km/h from a standstill in around 3.2 seconds, which matches the new RS6 Avant Performance.
