Ryan Fitzpatrick and Tua Tagovailoa went from competing for the Miami Dolphins’ starting quarterback in 2020 to jamming with ukuleles. The former teammates showed there was no bad blood between them ahead of the Dolphins’ Thursday night game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
The fun little moment was part of Amazon Prime’s Thursday Night Football cover. Fitzpatrick announced his retirement this summer and is now trying his hand at broadcasting. If this interview is any preview of what fans can expect, her new media career will likely be successful, unless her music career takes off first.
Even Tagovailoa, who still plays with the Dolphins, said he wanted to see more interviews like this. He couldn’t stop laughing during the 40 second song.
“Tu-Tu-Tua, you’re so much fun. I like that you watch yourself, you don’t run,” Fitzpatrick sang. “You throw the ball so far, farther than my car.”
It was probably a good way for Tagovailoa to relax before the competition. He hit his head in a fall last Sunday when his team faced the Buffalo Bills. At Tuesday’s press conference, he said he was fine and did not have a concussion. He’s still struggling with back and ankle injuries, but the quarterback is expected to play against Cincinnati.
The Dolphins currently sit atop the AFC with a 3-0 record. Meanwhile, the Bengals come into the game 1-2 after back-to-back losses to the Pittsburgh Steelers and Dallas Cowboys.
The game is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. ET and will be available on Amazon Prime.
