The pop star spent time preparing for the performance throughout the week, sharing workout videos on social media. A clip of her singing while running on the treadmill inspired Lizzo to do the same. “I saw Miley run and sing her song for endurance, so I’m going to run and sing my song for endurance,” she said. “I do this for all the big girls out there. They said we couldn’t do it!
Cyrus is one of several performers to perform for the big game on Sunday. Eric Church and Jazmine Sullivan will sing the national anthem, while HER is expected to sing “America the Beautiful”. The Weeknd is slated to headline the show at halftime.
Cyrus released his latest album Plastic hearts last fall, making the cover of Rolling stone in an exclusive interview. She covered several songs while promoting the album, including “Fade Into You” by Mazzy Star, “Doll Parts” by Hole, “Zombie by Cranberries”, “Maneater” by Hall & Oates, “Heart of Glass “from Blondie and others.
